Our resolve to make Punjab safe and drug-free: Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal
Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal while reiterating the priorities of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led government said that the government is fully committed to eliminate gangsterism and drugs from Punjab.
He said that the ‘Gangster Te War’ campaign launched by the Mann government has entered its 164th day today and its very meaningful and positive results are coming in front of the society. During this historic operation, the police has shown promptness and achieved great success in arresting 43,127 gangsters so far.

Throwing light on the public-friendly policies of the government, Dhaliwal said that on one hand the Bhagwant Mann government has successfully fulfilled its five guarantees made to the public, while on the other hand, under the Maawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana, honorarium of Rs 1000 and Rs 1500 has also started coming into the accounts of the women of the state.
He clarified that amidst this public welfare, the main focus of the government is also on the security of the state and the future of the youth. Punjab Police is working very bravely and diligently and our fight will continue until law and order problems like gangsterism and drugs are completely eliminated from the state.
Giving information about the strict action taken against drug smugglers, the AAP spokesperson said that the government’s ‘war against drugs’ campaign is also going on with full force. On the 489th day of this operation, the police, showing their promptness, have seized 2.1 kg of heroin and sent 187 drug smugglers behind the bars. He said that a total of 71,538 drug smugglers have been arrested so far under this campaign. Dhaliwal warned in clear words that any criminal who disturbs the peace of Punjab and plays with the lives of the youth will not be spared.
