Sonam told that the first big rumor was born with the first day of shooting of Tridev and their first big song. After the release of the film, it was believed that due to her close relationship with the director, she got more importance than the other actresses in the film. But the reality was completely different.

The actress revealed in her post that Rajeev Rai was not even in favor of casting her in the film. He had earlier planned to cast another actress in the film and had almost completed the negotiations. According to Sonam, the director had seen some scenes from her previous film and was not impressed by them. In such a situation, casting him in the film was not Rajeev Rai’s first choice but a compulsion because other options were not available.

Sonam also said that at that time Rajiv Rai was with his girlfriend while her own boyfriend was also present near the shooting site. In such a situation, the talk of any kind of secret relationship or romance between the two was completely baseless. He said that there was neither any secret meeting nor any hidden love affair.

Interestingly, circumstances changed later and Sonam Khan and Rajiv Rai came closer to each other long after the release of Tridev. At that time both of them had come out of their previous relationships and were single. After this both of them started dating each other and their relationship progressed. Finally both of them got married in the year 1991. However, this relationship also could not last forever and both of them separated in the year 2016.

Talking about Tridev, this film was included in the biggest blockbuster films of its era. Veteran actors like Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Naseeruddin Shah, Madhuri Dixit and Amrish Puri were seen in the film. The song Oye Oye is still counted among the most popular songs of Hindi cinema.
