Pakistan army’s orgy in Rawalakot… 6 civilians died… India said

The situation in Pakistan’s illegally occupied Kashmir has become extremely explosive. Six people have died tragically in indiscriminate firing on civilians by Pakistani security forces in Rawalakot. The dead included local citizens like Zahid Mughal, Zafar Mughal, Arsalan Akbar and Wajid Hayat. After this barbaric action, there is huge anger against Islamabad in the entire area.

PoK plunged into darkness, looks towards India for help

The people of PoK, suffering from the oppression of the Pakistani Army, are now completely cut off from the world. Due to the prolonged internet shutdown in the area, about 40 lakh people are unable to connect with the outside world. Amid this crisis, local people have taken an unprecedented step and appealed to India to intervene. The protesters say that the Line of Control (LoC) should be opened through Poonch and Doda sectors, so that humanitarian aid can be delivered and people’s lives can be saved.

The voice echoed till Washington

The pain of PoK was not limited to the local streets only. People from the PoK community gathered outside the White House in Washington, USA, drawing the world’s attention towards this humanitarian crisis. The protesters have demanded that the Pakistani army should be immediately withdrawn from civilian areas and the atrocities on innocents should be stopped.

India’s tough stance

The Government of India has taken a tough stance on this entire matter. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal clarified that the violence in Rawalakot was not a sudden incident, but the result of decades of ‘systematic exploitation’ by Pakistan. India said that people in PoK are deprived of their fundamental rights and the administrative repression of the Pakistani Army has made the life of the people there difficult.

The growing discontent in this area under illegal occupation of Pakistan and the brutality of the security forces indicate that the situation there is now going out of Islamabad’s control. The eyes of the global community and India are now on whether this repressive policy will lead PoK to a major public uprising?
