Houthi rebels threaten Pakistan: Yemen's Houthi rebels tried to attack its capital with a ballistic missile. This is the first incident of targeting Riyadh since fighting with Iran-backed rebels escalated, opening a new front in the Iran war. But, due to the Mecca Agreement, now Türkiye and Pakistan will also have to jump into this fight. Who have been threatened with attacks towards the Houthi rebels.

The Saudi-led coalition issued a statement saying the missile had been intercepted. Some residents of Riyadh heard the explosion. Later, some people saw smoke near the airport. There is no news of any casualty or damage. The statement also said Houthi rebels tried to attack the Red Sea port city of Yanbu (where a key Saudi Arabian pipeline ends) and civilian facilities in Taif, Baysh and Farasan, but were repelled.
Earlier, the Houthis claimed they targeted “sensitive targets” in Riyadh and facilities of Saudi Arabian oil giant Aramco in Yanbu, causing “massive fires”. Houthi military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sarri claimed they attacked with cruise and ballistic missiles as well as drones. He said Saudi Arabia tried to target the rebel-held city of Sanaa in neighboring Yemen.
Pakistan is in a bad situation
Under the Mecca Agreement, Pakistan and Turkey will have to come in support of Saudi Arabia. In such a situation, Pakistan may have to face the anger of Houthi rebels. Houthi rebels have threatened both countries with attacks if they deploy their troops in Saudi Arabia. Houthi leader Al Bukheti said that if Islamabad and Ankara come forward, they will also be directly attacked. He clarified that Yemen is still adopting a defensive stance. But if Pakistan and Türkiye also come, it will not be good for them.

Now against Pakistan, there is a ditch on one side and a well on the other side, because under the Mecca Agreement between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey, an attack on any one country will be considered an attack on all three countries and all three will respond together. In such a situation, if Pakistan responds to the attack on Saudi Arabia, then the Houthi rebels will directly target it. If he recuses himself it will be a violation of the agreement.
