Pakistan's major action in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 62 terrorists including four commanders killed in 36-hour operation

New Delhi . Security forces in Pakistan's restive north-western province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have claimed to have killed 62 terrorists in a major operation against terrorists. This action lasted for more than 36 hours in North Waziristan and Bannu districts. According to security officials, the operation was launched based on intelligence and used ground forces along with modern surveillance technology.

The largest part of the operation was conducted in North Waziristan, where security forces began surveillance on suspected targets from Tuesday morning. According to officials, security forces took targeted action after gathering information about the activities of terrorists associated with Fitnah al-Khawarij. During the operation, the help of quadcopter was taken to identify terrorists hiding in dense trees and inaccessible areas.

According to security forces, 52 terrorists, including four key commanders, were killed during the operation in North Waziristan. Many hideouts of terrorists were also destroyed in the operation. Officials claimed that a large quantity of arms, ammunition and other military material was recovered from these locations. According to security agencies, these resources were to be used for terrorist activities and attacks on security forces in the area.

During the operation, information also came to light that some injured terrorists were trying to escape from the spot. Security forces kept an eye on their activities with the help of surveillance technology and took further action. This increased the scope of the operation and the process of searching suspicious hideouts and securing them also continued.

On Wednesday, security forces also conducted operations at different places in Bannu district. Here, the activities of hidden terrorists were detected with the help of drones. According to officials, 10 terrorists were killed and 16 others were injured in the operations in Bannu. After these operations, search and clearance operations were also conducted in the affected areas.

Information about a madrassa being allegedly used as a hideout by terrorists in Bannu also came to light. The security forces evacuated the surrounding area before taking action, to ensure the safety of civilians. After this, targeted action was taken at the suspicious place. Arms and ammunition were also claimed to have been recovered during the operation.

Earlier in Bannu district, two terrorists were reported killed in an intelligence-based operation near Adnan Cricket Stadium in Jani Khel area. After this, security activities were further increased in sensitive areas of the district.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has long been among the most sensitive areas of Pakistan due to terrorist activities. Security forces have been continuously conducting operations against terrorists in districts like North Waziristan and Bannu. In recent operations, special emphasis was placed on drones, quadcopters, intelligence and ground force coordination.
