Pakistan has struggled to digest the revocation of Article 370 from Kashmir for years. It commemorates August 5th as “Yum-e-Istehsal.” Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, released a video message Wednesday morning making baseless claims, which India later dismissed as a futile political attempt to spread propaganda.
The Ministry of External Affairs issued an official statement categorically rejecting the Pakistani minister’s nefarious remarks. Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “India categorically rejects this political charade and propaganda campaign by Pakistan.”
Dar has raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, regarding which the statement said, “The Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are and will always remain an integral and inseparable part of India.”
India clarified that the constitutional changes made on August 5, 2019, are entirely India’s internal matter. These decisions have led to socio-economic development for the people of the region, provided them with good governance, and promoted democratic empowerment. Pakistan has no locus standi to comment on India’s internal affairs.
Holding a mirror to Pakistan, Randhir Jaiswal further said, “Pakistan’s desperate attempts to spread lies are merely an attempt to distract the world from its dismal human rights record and its image as a global hub of terrorism. The world community is witnessing how the voices of the people in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir are being brutally suppressed.”
Referring to the military crackdown, it further said, “In recent weeks, Pakistani security forces have resorted to violence, targeted killings, and draconian restrictions to suppress peaceful protests by local people. This state-sponsored violence against unarmed people exposes the Pakistani government’s double standards.”
Jaiswal concluded by advising Pakistan that instead of engaging in diplomatic drama, it should stop the bloodshed in PoJK, take concrete action against the terror networks operating from its soil, and immediately vacate all Indian territories it has illegally and forcibly occupied. The world will not be fooled by these orchestrated spectacles.
