Online classes have been started in Lady Shri Ram College for Women in the capital Delhi. A few days ago, a girl was gang-raped in Aastha Kunj Park near Kalkaji Temple. This park is just 2 kilometers away from the college. Because of this, for the safety of the girls, the college administration decided that online classes would be conducted. Along with this, all regular classes in the college have been cancelled.
A 17 year old girl was gang-raped in Aastha Kunj Park of Kalkaji Temple in Delhi. Police arrested an accused of gangrape. In the encounter with the police during the arrest, the police shot the accused in the leg, after which he was arrested. Apart from this, the search for the remaining 2 accused is going on. After this incident, there was an atmosphere of concern regarding the safety of women in the entire area. For this reason the college administration banned regular classes on Tuesday.

What did the college administration say?
Regarding this decision, college principal Kanika K Ahuja said, 'As soon as this incident was known, the decision to cancel regular classes was taken. The safety of the students is of utmost importance. Along with this, the Principal said that the mentors and counselors of the college have been instructed to be available to help the students.
Delhi Police arrested a rape accused on Tuesday. The accused was caught near the back gate of Lady Shri Ram College. For this reason, concerns regarding the safety of students in the college had increased.

3 accused committed rape
On September 21, a minor girl had gone to Kalka temple with her friend. After darshan, the girl was sitting in the park with her friends at 7:30 in the evening. Then three boys came there, who introduced themselves as police and started threatening the girls. After this, the three accused raped the girl and fled from there. The police registered this case under the POCSO Act, after which the police started investigation. On September 22, the police arrested one accused after an encounter, while the search for the remaining two accused is ongoing.
