Parveen Hooda: Another gold for India in women's boxing, Parveen Hooda defeated former world champion Chen Nien-Chin.

Parveen Hooda wins Gold Medal : On the 13th day of Asian Games 2026, India has won its second gold medal in women's boxing. Parveen Hooda surprised former world champion Chen Nien-Chin by 3-2 in the final (65kg). He had won a bronze medal in the last edition. Which Parveen has converted into gold this time.

Parveen Hooda had won the bronze medal in the last Asian Games, but the medal was later taken away from her due to violation of anti-doping rule related to whereabouts information. Now Parveen made a tremendous comeback and this time won the gold medal in 65 kg category. Parveen has become only the third Indian woman boxer to win a gold medal at the Asian Games after Mary Kom (2014) and Lovlina Borgohain (2026).

Earlier on Friday, Lovlina Borgohain ended India's 12-year wait for a gold medal in women's boxing. She defeated Ziyi Bao of China in the final of 75 kg category. Olympic medalist Lovlina defeated Bao by 5-0 unanimous decision.
