Passengers troubled in summer, this is the condition of New Delhi Railway Station

Long queues of passengers are forming to enter the New Delhi Railway Station of the country’s capital. Nearly 500 people were seen waiting in the scorching heat just to enter the station. Because of which anyone can faint at any time in this scorching heat. Everyone standing in these lines are children, old and young. When ‘Khabargaon’ wanted to know the reason for these long lines on Friday, the security personnel present at the spot told that some gates have been closed due to security reasons. In this context, the Railway officials neither have any alternative arrangement nor any answer.

 

The condition of the station is such that no one is ready to give information as to why these gates are closed?

 

Every day lakhs of people come and go from New Delhi station to fulfill their dreams. This is the most important place for commuting to Delhi. It is one of the busiest railway stations in India. People come and go from here to every corner of the country. In such a situation, to catch the train from 16 platforms of the station, people take entry and exit from platform number 1 (Paharganj) and platform number 16 (Ajmeri Gate).

These days, long queues of passengers are forming at New Delhi Railway Station to catch trains during peak hours. Because of these queues, passengers entering the station has become equivalent to winning a war. Many entry and exit gates are temporarily closed due to recent security concerns. Two long lines are forming to enter the station from Ajmeri Gate. However, earlier in normal days these lines were negligible, but now people have to waste 10 to 20 minutes of their time unnecessarily by standing in these lines.

Due to these lines, people are facing a lot of problems. People are forced to enter through the limited entry points of the station with heavy luggage and their families. People are following these new rules of the station administration, but they are also afraid that they might miss their train because of this line.

 

People expressed pain to ‘Khabargaon’

When ‘Khabargaon’ reached the ground to know about this new system of New Delhi Railway Station, the problems of the people came to the fore. Many people were seen running with their heavy bags and briefcases to catch the train immediately after getting the necessary tests done at the check point. While running from the escalator of gate number 16 to the platform above, passenger Deepak Singh said that it took him 10 to 15 minutes to cross this line. He said he could have missed his train because of the line. He also told that most of the gates at Ajmeri Gate are closed.

 

Similarly, another passenger Vicky had come to the station to help his mother catch the train. He remained in the queue with his mother for 15 minutes. After talking, he also said that earlier in normal days there was no such line, but today because of the line he could have missed his train. Another passenger going to Bengal also reiterated the problem of missing the train.

No answer received

In fact, it was seen at New Delhi Railway Station that a gate of platform 16 towards Ajmeri Gate and the VIP gate of 16 itself were found open. Similarly, the escalator of gate number 8 is open. Gate number 3 was found closed. When we talked to Delhi Station Director Laxmikant Bansal about this inconvenience being faced by the passengers, he said that you should talk to the CPRO, only he will be able to tell you better. When CPRO was called and messaged in this regard, he did not respond.

 

One of the busiest stations in the country

Officially around 5 lakh passengers travel through New Delhi Railway Station every day. This number increases to 7-8 lakh during the festival season. This station remains busy 24 hours, from where more than 300 trains operate daily. Being one of the largest transit hubs in India, it is served by long distance trains – premium trains like Rajdhani/Shatabdi, local and unreserved passengers.
