Payal Rohatgi Exclusive Interview: Bollywood actress And model Payal Rohatgi recently opened up about acting, music and her future plans in an exclusive interview with Navrastra. She said that to be a good actress, it is not enough to express emotions, but voice modulation is equally important.
How did you develop interest in music after acting? To this, Payal said, “Every artist has different stages in their life. Now I wanted to learn something new. The songs in my films were sung by singers like Shreya Ghoshal, Kailash Kher. So I never felt the need to learn singing. During that time, I focused more on acting and dancing.”
Explaining her reason for learning music, she said, “Now I want to do content-rich and female-led roles. In acting, not only emotions are enough, but voice fluctuations are equally important. If emotions are accompanied by proper voice modulation, you can become a more effective actress. That’s why I decided to learn music.”

Payal is currently taking music lessons at singer Kailash Kher’s academy. About this she said, Kailas Kher’s academy is very close to my house. So I chose this academy. I have an old relationship with Kailasji, as he sang my first item song (‘O Sikandar’ – Movie: Corporate). I had a voice test on my first day at the academy. I sang Hanuman Chalisa there, because I read it every day and I could sing it well
Currently she is learning basic lessons in saregam, alankar, palte and raga. Apart from this, she is also practicing independently to make her voice softer and more effective. “One of the biggest challenges of being a singer is taking care of the voice. So I talk less on the phone and use WhatsApp as much as possible,” she added.
