Business Desk- Petrol Diesel Price Today: An upward trend is being seen in the prices of crude oil on May 11, 2026. Today, the price of Brent crude rose by 1.23% to $101.29 per barrel. Apart from this, the price of WTI crude increased by 0.64% to $95.42 per barrel.

Tension is increasing after talks broke down between America and Iran regarding peace proposal. Both sides have exchanged several proposals, but all have failed. The atmosphere of uncertainty is deepening due to the failure of talks once again. Will this also affect the prices of petrol and diesel in India?

Due to increase in crude oil prices

America had sent a peace proposal to Iran, but talks have stalled. Through Pakistani intermediaries, Iran has sent its reply rejecting this proposal. In particular, this proposal included a condition that Iran would have to refrain from making nuclear weapons.

After the proposal was submitted, US President Donald Trump even said that Iran had accepted this condition. Now he will not participate in the nuclear arms race. However, now there are reports that this proposal has been rejected.

The blockade still continues in the Strait of Hormuz, which is affecting the supply of oil and gas. Crude oil prices are rising amid fears of limited supply and risks related to shipping.

What is the status of petrol and diesel prices in India?

Despite the increasing financial pressure on government oil marketing companies due to rising crude oil prices in India, there has been no increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. Prices still remain at the same level as in the last two years.

However, in a recent address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed to the public to reduce fuel consumption. Reports also show that Indian oil marketing companies are currently incurring a loss of Rs 1,600 to 1,700 crore per day.

Petrol diesel prices in different cities of the country

Prices of petrol and diesel were seen at different levels in major cities of the country. In the national capital New Delhi, petrol is being sold at Rs 94.77 and diesel at Rs 87.67 per litre.

The price of petrol in Mumbai is Rs 103.50 and the price of diesel is Rs 90.03 per liter. In Kolkata, petrol has reached Rs 105.45 and diesel Rs 92.02 per liter.

Whereas in Gurgaon, petrol is being sold at ₹ 95.30 and diesel at ₹ 88.10 per liter. The price of petrol in Noida is Rs 95.05 and the price of diesel is Rs 88.19 per liter.

Talking about the cities of South India, in Bengaluru petrol is being sold at Rs 102.92 and diesel at 90.99 per litre, while in Chennai petrol is being sold at Rs 100.95 and diesel at 92.40 per litre.
