Recounting the incident, the girl said that she had gone to Connaught Place with her friends on July 23rd to watch the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar. According to her, some people present there and several YouTube channels were encouraging people to express their opinions on camera. When she was asked to speak, she asked what she should say, but was told she could say anything she wanted.
The girl further explained that she was influenced by the atmosphere and the conversations she heard around her, which led her to repeat what she was hearing around her. However, she now realizes her mistake and regrets her statement.

In the video, the girl also alleged that after the video went viral, she has been receiving threats from several unknown numbers. She says someone made her mobile number public, after which she has been receiving threats of death and sexual violence.
