New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met the party's new national team at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi. The meeting was the first major meeting after party president Nitin Naveen announced his new 65-member team on August 17.
After the meeting, PM Modi wrote on X, "Organizational meetings are about new ideas and approaches, aimed at strengthening the party and deepening its connect with the people. Had excellent interactions with party colleagues and the new organizational team."
Smriti Irani and Ram Madhav return in major reshuffle
Major changes have been seen in this new team. Former Union minister Smriti Irani and RSS national executive member Ram Madhav have returned to key organizational roles. His return is being seen as a matter of experience and ideological balance in the party.
Earlier in the day, Nitin Naveen chaired a meeting with office-bearers, in which organizational strategy, upcoming assembly elections, grassroots mobilization and taking the government's schemes to the public were discussed.
Priority to youth dialogue, focus on Gen Z and Gen Alpha
Nitin Naveen joins the new team "youth dialogue" That is, it has been asked to give highest priority to continuous engagement with the youth. According to sources, BJP is going to launch a big campaign in the coming days to reach out to the youth.
The discussion focused on how to reach youth ages 14 and older, which includes both Gen Z and Gen Alpha generations. For this, dedicated teams are being formed by including senior leaders from across the country.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha has been given the responsibility of forming these teams and helping in grassroots mobilization. Former national officials will also be given a bigger role in this outreach program.
Proposal on election preparations and Vande Mataram
The preparations for the upcoming assembly elections were also discussed in the meeting. Nitin Naveen will hold another review meeting at BJP Headquarters Extension at 10 am on Sunday, which will include presidents, organization general secretaries and in-charges of all the states.
There will be a review on the strategy of election going states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab. In the same meeting, BJP passed a resolution condemning the Congress Working Committee's decision to sing only the first two verses of Vande Mataram.
It was said in the proposal that BJP "political benefits or appeasement" There will be no compromise with the respect of the national anthem. The party president said that any political agreement of 1937 cannot be kept above the constitutional decision of 1950 and the law made by the Parliament in 2026.
It is noteworthy that by passing the 'Prevention of Insults to National Honor (Amendment) Act, 2026' on July 30, the Parliament has given Vande Mataram the legal status equal to Jana Gana Mana.
