Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the “Nasha Mukt Yuva Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan” via video conferencing on August 2, 2026, at 11 am. The initiative aims to motivate youth to stay away from drug addiction and encourage them to become ambassadors for positive social change in their communities.
This campaign will mark the beginning of a 100-week nationwide public participation campaign against drug addiction. Under this campaign, weekly activities will be organized every Sunday across the country to raise awareness and encourage people’s participation in creating a drug-free society.
These activities will include sports events, walkathons, meditation sessions, cultural programs, awareness campaigns, street plays, group discussions, art competitions, and community events.
The initiative aims to further strengthen community participation by bringing together educational institutions, youth organizations, civil society groups, industry bodies, and spiritual organizations on a common platform to build a collective movement against drug addiction.
Youth from over 10,000 locations across the country will participate in this program. My Bharat Volunteers, My Bharat National Service Scheme Volunteers, youth clubs, schools, colleges, universities, NGOs, youth wings of industry associations, and over 125 partner and religious organizations will participate virtually.
Union Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, also shared information about this campaign through his X-post.
In his post shared on Saturday, Mandaviya wrote, “Tomorrow is going to be a historic moment for India’s youth power. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi will grandly launch the ‘Drug Free Youth for a Developed India Sankalp Abhiyan’ tomorrow (Sunday). In this mega-campaign, he will provide virtual guidance to over 10 million youth from over 20,000 locations across the country.”
