PM Modi’s address in ‘Mann Ki Baat’, conversation with athletes and warning on heatwave

Tezzbuzz Desk- Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the countrymen in the 134th episode of his monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday (May 31). During this, he talked on various topics like sports, weather, health and agriculture and shared many important messages related to the public.

Referring to the National Senior Athletics Federation competition held in Ranchi, Jharkhand, the Prime Minister said that about 800 players had participated in it, who had come from different parts of the country. He said that four new national records were created in this event, which is a matter of pride for Indian sports.

PM Modi congratulated Gurindervir Singh, Vishal TK, Tejaswin Shankar, Dev Meena and Kuldeep Kumar for their achievements. He specifically mentioned the men’s 100 meters race, in which the national record was broken three times within two days. The Prime Minister also spoke to Gurinderveer Singh and Animesh Kujur for this achievement and appreciated their performance.

In his address, the Prime Minister also mentioned the scorching heat being experienced in many parts of the country. He appealed to the citizens to remain alert and said that special caution should be taken during strong sunlight and hot winds.

He said to keep drinking adequate amount of water and avoid going out in the sun unnecessarily. He also advised to follow the guidelines related to heatwave issued by the government.

PM Modi also said that traditional Indian drinks and food play an important role in protecting against heat. Mentioning indigenous beverages like Aam Panna, Lassi, Buttermilk and Sattu, he appealed to the people to adopt them.

In his address, the Prime Minister also talked in detail about mango and mentioned its various varieties in India. He said that there would hardly be any house in India where mango is not discussed in summer.

He mentioned various mangoes like Hapus (Alphonso) of Maharashtra, Kesar of Gujarat, Dussehri and Langra of Uttar Pradesh, Jardalu of Bihar, Himsagar of Bengal and Subarnarekha of Odisha-Andhra Pradesh. The PM said that every region has its own taste, its own fragrance and its own identity, which reflects the diversity of India.

The Prime Minister also praised the farmers involved in mango cultivation and said that due to their hard work Indian mangoes are reaching the global market today. He said that these farmers are playing an important role in the agricultural economy of the country. At the end of his address, PM Modi thanked all the farmers for their contribution and appreciated them.
