An attempt was made to hit me with a stone…. CRPF saved lives, Kalyan Banerjee held BJP responsible
Knews Desk- Political tension regarding post-election violence is continuously increasing in West Bengal. Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kalyan Banerjee has made serious allegations against BJP. He claimed that he was attacked in Hooghly district and the entire incident was part of a political conspiracy.
According to the information, Kalyan Banerjee had reached Chanditala Police Station in Hooghly, where he had gone to submit a memorandum in protest against the post-poll violence and arrest of TMC workers. Meanwhile, the atmosphere outside the police station suddenly became tense. The protesting people showed black flags and started raising slogans against TMC leaders.
Kalyan Banerjee alleged that the protesting people were BJP supporters and they attacked him. He says that during this time his head got hurt and he also bled. Describing it as an “attempt to murder”, he said that the entire incident took place in the presence of police, but no effective action was taken in time.
This incident has come to light at a time when news of protest and alleged attack on TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee had also come to light a day earlier. After these continuous incidents, the atmosphere in the politics of West Bengal has become more heated.
TMC has blamed BJP for this incident and called it an attack on democracy. Whereas opposition parties have rejected these allegations and accused TMC of spoiling the political atmosphere. At present, the police is busy investigating the entire matter and the video and other evidence related to the incident is being examined.
