Tezzbuzz Desk- Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his review meeting with Union Ministers stressed on ensuring better coordination and cooperation between the Central and State governments. He asked the ministers to hold regular meetings with the state government ministers associated with their respective departments, so that the problems arising in the implementation of schemes and development works can be resolved in time.
PM Modi suggested that Union ministers organize region-wise and sector-based meetings with state ministers related to their departments. Through these meetings, efforts will be made to make the communication between the Center and the states regular and systematic.
The Prime Minister also gave the example of the model of Jal Shakti Ministry for this. Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil recently held a meeting with water resources ministers of states, in which water sector issues related to various states were discussed in detail.
Other ministries will also adopt the model
PM Modi has advised other ministries to organize similar meetings. According to sources, the Ministry of Women and Child Development may organize the next such conference. After this, the Environment Ministry is also considering holding such a meeting.
The main objective of these meetings is to strengthen the partnership between the Center and the States, so that the Centre's schemes and development programs can be implemented more effectively on the ground.
The meeting of water resources ministers was held on 1-2 September.
Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil had held a two-day meeting with water resources ministers of states in New Delhi on September 1 and 2. In this, important topics like water related infrastructure, sustainability of water sources, 'Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari' and 'Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0' were discussed.
In the last session of the meeting, the ministers of the states also talked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During this, BJP National President Nitin Nabin was also present.
Problems will be solved through direct communication
With regular communication between central and state ministers, challenges like delay in approval of projects, lack of funds, land related problems, departmental coordination and implementation of schemes can be directly discussed.
Apart from this, state governments will also be able to share their successful experiments and ways of working better. These models can be implemented in other states as per the need.
Overall, the government's effort is to move towards better implementation of development plans through cooperative federalism by strengthening the dialogue between the Center and the states.
