Highest interest on 444 day FD in PNB

Punjab National Bank has implemented its new interest rates from November 1, 2026. The bank’s 444 day special FD scheme is offering the highest interest for general customers. In this scheme, common customers will get 6.60 percent annual interest. At the same time, senior citizens will be given interest at the rate of 7.10 percent. The interest rate for general customers in PNB’s 666 day FD is 6.50 percent. Senior citizens can get 7 percent annual interest during this period.

If a person deposits money for one year, he will get 6.25 percent interest. During the same period, the interest rate for senior citizens has been kept at 6.75 percent. These bank rates are applicable on domestic term deposits of less than Rs 3 crore. However, there is a provision of additional interest for super senior citizens aged 80 years or more. Such customers can get 7.40 percent annual interest on PNB’s normal 444 day FD.

PNB or Canara Bank, where will you get more interest on making FD?

Before depositing money in FD, people see which bank is getting more interest. If we talk about Punjab National Bank and Canara Bank, at present the interest rate of Canara Bank is slightly higher. Here, common customers are getting 6.75 percent annual interest on making FD of 555 days. At the same time, 6.60 percent interest is being given on FD of 444 days in PNB. There is not much difference, but the time for depositing money in both the banks is different.

Now if you want to make FD only for 444 days, then you will get 6.65 percent interest in Canara Bank. PNB’s rate for the same period is 6.60 percent. That means there is a slight difference between the two. But for people of 80 years of age and above, PNB is getting good rates. The bank is giving 7.40 percent interest to such customers on FD of 444 days. In Canara Bank, this rate on FD with normal withdrawal facility of 555 days is 7.35 percent. In such a situation, in which bank to keep money, it also depends on your age and need.

How much money will you get if you make an FD of Rs 1 lakh?

If you deposit Rs 1 lakh in Canara Bank and the interest rate is 6.75 per cent, then according to simple interest, you will earn Rs 6,750 in a year. If senior citizens get the rate of 7.25 percent, the simple interest on the same amount for a year will be Rs 7,250. However, Canara Bank’s FD with 6.75 percent interest is not for one year but for 555 days. Therefore, if you keep the money deposited for the entire period, the interest amount will also be higher. The amount received will be decided by the bank’s method of adding interest.

Many people get such FD, in which interest is added to the deposited amount every three months. After this, interest is received on the increased amount in the next quarter. This helps in earning some extra income till the FD is completed. At the same time, the calculation of FD which charges regular interest is different.
