Amidst the complete prohibition law in force in Bihar, the Jehanabad City Police Station conducted a major crackdown against illegal liquor trade and seized 37 liters of foreign liquor from a kiosk. Police acted on a tip-off. However, the accused fled the scene before police arrived.
Raid Based on a Tip
City Police raided a kiosk located near the Thakurwadi water tank. The operation was conducted under the leadership of Additional Station House Officer Shyam Kumar Pandey. During the search, police recovered a large quantity of foreign liquor.
What Was Recovered?
According to police, a total of 37 liters of foreign liquor was recovered from the kiosk, including:
2 cartons (48 cans) of beer
20 bottles of foreign liquor
The seized liquor was brought to the City Police Station and further legal proceedings have been initiated.
Accused Absconded, Search Continues
The alleged liquor dealer fled the scene upon receiving word of the raid. Police have identified him as Subodh Kumar. Continuous raids are being conducted at possible hideouts to arrest the accused.
Police issue a strict warning
Additional Station House Officer Shyam Kumar Pandey stated that this action was taken based on a tip-off. He clarified that a strict campaign against those violating the liquor ban law in Bihar will continue and the absconding accused will be arrested soon.
