Policemen in plain clothes kidnapped AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar: Saurabh Bhardwaj

Delhi Politics: Aam Aadmi Party has made a sensational allegation against Delhi Police on Tuesday. Delhi's largest opposition party claims that the policemen came in plain clothes and took AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar to an “undisclosed place”. The MLAs were supporting the sanitation workers who were demanding compensation for the employee's family and the police were pressurizing the family of a recently deceased sanitation worker to perform the last rites.

Former Delhi minister and state AAP unit chief Saurabh Bhardwaj said in a post on Tuesday, “Today at 4 am, around 20 policemen in plain clothes came and abducted AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar. He was raising the voice of sanitation workers and demanding compensation for his family. He had demanded that CM Rekha Gupta meet the family, but instead of meeting the protesters, they have taken MLA Kuldeep Kumar to an unknown place.” Bhardwaj also alleged that Delhi Police was “forcefully performing the last rites of the deceased sanitation worker”.

Bhardwaj said that after the murder of the sanitation worker, thousands of sanitation workers were protesting for two days and demanding a compensation of Rs 1 crore. He further said that the police have now brought the body from the hospital to the employee's home. Hundreds of sanitation workers and auto-tipper drivers from across Delhi protested at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital on Monday. The protest was sparked by the murder of Anil, a sweeper on duty in Kalyanpuri. He demanded a compensation of Rs 1 crore and a permanent government job for a family member. At present, there was no immediate reaction from Delhi Police on this.
