Politics News- Mamta is not resigning after losing Bengal assembly elections, told new MLAs – wear black clothes
Friends, the results of West Bengal Assembly elections were declared on May 4, in which Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC had to face defeat, after which a big political controversy has arisen. Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee has expressed strong objection to the results, and expressed serious concerns alleging irregularities in the election process and refused to resign, let’s know the complete details.
Main allegations of Mamta Banerjee
Mamata Banerjee claimed that many TMC candidates were forcibly defeated as part of a conspiracy.
He held the Election Commission of India, West Bengal Police, Central Reserve Police Force and the Chief Electoral Officer responsible for this.
He also alleged that more than 1,500 TMC party offices were forcibly occupied.
“I will not resign” statement
During a meeting with the newly elected MLAs, Mamata Banerjee clearly said that she will not resign even if she is removed from the post.
He called for the day to be observed as “Black Day” in protest.
TMC MLAs have been instructed to wear black clothes on the first day of the assembly session.
He warned that those party members who are accused of betrayal will be expelled from the party.
Despite the electoral setback, he insisted that the party would continue its political fight.
TMC’s stance on violence and democracy
TMC leader Kunal Ghosh said it is the responsibility of the Election Commission to stop the violence.
He criticized the gap between political claims and the ground reality of post-poll violence.
Mamata Banerjee’s decision not to resign was described as a symbolic protest against alleged electoral injustice.
The party leadership has empowered him to take important decisions, including electing the leader of the opposition and assigning responsibilities to MLAs.
Government formation process begins
With the declaration of results, the constitutional process to form a new government in West Bengal has started.
Despite raising questions on the validity of the mandate, Mamata Banerjee has refused to step down.
Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Aggarwal clarified that the role of the Election Commission is limited only to conducting elections and declaring the results, while the government is formed under constitutional provisions.
