New Delhi. Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari has sparked controversy with a new statement. During a press conference, he sharply criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal life and made sharp comments about the Ram Temple worship ceremony in Ayodhya. His statement has once again heated up the political atmosphere in the country.
Pramod Tiwari, while targeting PM Modi, recounted a mythological incident from the Ramayana. He said that when Lord Shri Ram performed the Ashwamedha Yagya, Mother Sita was not with him, but to comply with religious norms, Lord Ram had a statue of Mother Sita placed next to him. Referring to this, the Congress leader said, “I kept searching on TV. When Modi ji was worshipping at the temple, did we not see Mother Sita anywhere?” He further said, “Who was Ram’s Sita at that time, and who is Modi ji’s Sita today? Modi ji himself is the one to decide.”
“The temple was built by a court order, not by the BJP.”
Pramod Tiwari categorically refused to give the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) credit for the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He stated that the Ram Temple in Ayodhya was not built because of the BJP. The temple was built following the Supreme Court’s historic decision and order.
He alleged that the BJP was compelled to proceed with the temple project, but the party prioritized politics over religion. The Congress leader also raised serious questions about the temple’s construction and inauguration. He stated that the BJP was simply in a hurry to win the elections and had no regard for the temple or religious traditions. He alleged that, seeing the elections approaching, the BJP hurriedly performed puja at an incomplete temple. At that time, neither the temple’s pavilion had been completed nor the flag hoisted at the top. According to religious beliefs, worshipping at an incomplete temple is considered inauspicious.
Congress leader said, “The public taught us a lesson.”
Pramod Tiwari also linked the Lok Sabha election results to this issue. He said that the BJP resorted to numerous tricks and attempted rigging, but despite this, the public rejected them. Their seats dropped from 306 to a much smaller number. He said that the people of the country have understood those who play politics in the name of Lord Ram. For the BJP, the Ram Temple was merely an election issue, whereas for the common people of the country, it is a matter of faith.
As soon as Pramod Tiwari’s statement came to light, the Bharatiya Janata Party also began to retaliate. BJP leaders have called it the narrow-mindedness of the Congress party for dragging the Prime Minister’s personal life and questioning his religious beliefs. Currently, this statement has sparked a heated debate on social media and in political circles.
