Pregnancy Yoga Tips: If you are planning pregnancy, then make these yogasanas a part of your daily routine.

Yoga And Pregnancy: The word Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word Yuj, which means to join or unite. The work of yoga is to establish balance between mind, body and breath. Yoga calms our nervous system. Yoga plays an important role in many physical and mental problems.

Yoga and pregnancy

A woman’s ability to conceive is not just biological, it is also a sign of the body’s overall health, balance and readiness to embrace new life. Infertility is not just a disease but a result of mental stress and physical imbalance.

Many research suggests that yoga can be helpful in improving reproductive health. However, it has to be understood that yoga is not a substitute for fertility treatment, rather it prepares the body for pregnancy. Increases the fertility of the body, increases blood circulation and also gives mental strength.

How does yoga help in reducing stress?

During stress, the HPA Axis becomes active in the body, causing stress hormones like cortisol to increase. When cortisol levels remain high for a long time, it can affect the secretion of GnRH hormone in the brain, which disturbs the balance of LH and FSH hormones. It affects the functionality of women’s ovaries and men’s testicles.

Yoga activates the Vagus nerve, which makes the parasympathetic nervous system work better. Doing yoga regularly reduces cortisol levels and increases BDNF i.e. Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor in the brain, which leads to better hormonal balance in women.
