BJP has intensified its strategy regarding the current political issues of Jharkhand. In the meeting of Jharkhand BJP leaders with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, issues like paper leak, delimitation, mining law, conversion and Bangladeshi infiltration were discussed about the party's upcoming campaign.
Tezzbuzz Desk- In the meeting held between Amit Shah and Jharkhand BJP leaders in Delhi, the political situation of the state and the further strategy of the organization were discussed. The issue of paper leak and alleged irregularities in the examination was especially discussed in the meeting.
BJP leaders believe that the party did not get the political benefits of the students' movement in Jharkhand as expected. According to the party, after the movement, the action taken by the government of Chief Minister Hemant Soren and other leaders including student leader Devendra Nath Mahato got more credit for this. BJP's bandh call also did not get the expected support.
Now the party is preparing to push forward the demand for CBI investigation in the paper leak case. BJP leaders believe that only through CBI investigation can the complete picture of the alleged examination rigging and paper leaks that took place during the tenure of the previous government be revealed. However, a CBI investigation requires the consent of the state government or a court order. For this reason the party is exploring legal and political avenues in this direction.
Attack on JMM regarding delimitation
In the meeting it was also decided to run a big campaign regarding delimitation. JMM is projecting the delimitation as a possible conspiracy to reduce the tribal reserved seats. In response to this, BJP says that JMM should answer on the reasons for the decline in the proportion of tribal population in Jharkhand.
The BJP also plans to run a statewide campaign linking conversion and Bangladeshi infiltration with the issue. The party will try to strengthen its political base in the state through these issues.
BJP and JMM will also face each other on mining law
There are also signs of increasing political conflict between BJP and JMM regarding laws related to minerals and mining. BJP alleges that Hemant Soren is making this law a political issue. At the same time, JMM says that the new provisions may affect the rights of state governments and Jharkhand may have to suffer economic losses.
JMM is especially protesting against Section 9D. Under this provision, state governments will not be able to impose new taxes, cess or levies on mineral rights or mineral-bearing land without following the conditions set by the Centre.
In contrast, BJP claims that the law will encourage investment and private participation in the mining sector. The party also says that new opportunities will be created for mining of important minerals like lithium and cobalt.
BJP is preparing to present the facts soon to answer the opposition's allegations regarding this law. Union Minister Piyush Goyal can present the government's side through a press conference. Apart from this, there is also a plan to run an awareness campaign regarding the law in states having mineral wealth.
End to speculations about JMM joining hands with BJP
After BJP's big victory in Bihar, speculations about JMM keeping distance from Congress and RJD and joining BJP had also increased. However, BJP sources have currently ruled out the possibility of any such alliance.
Along with this, the party has also rejected reports of any effort by BJP to get JMM's support on the proposed bills related to delimitation and women's reservation.
