Mumbai: Prithvi Shaw and his fiancée Akriti Agarwal have called off their engagement.
The couple announced their decision in an emotional social media post, saying their paths are “not meant to be together” and requesting privacy during this time.
Taking to Instagram, Akriti shared a note revealing that they had mutually decided to part ways due to differences in their future plans and circumstances.
She said that while they continue to love and care for each other, they have accepted that their paths are no longer meant to be together.
Akriti also urged people to respect their privacy and refrain from speculating about their separation.
Akriti wrote, “With a heavy heart, I would like to share that my fiancé and I have decided to part ways due to different goals and circumstances for our future.”
She further explained that their responsibilities and present circumstances ultimately led them to choose separate paths.
Akriti chose not to elaborate on what led to their decision. However, she said that despite parting ways, the two continue to love and care for each other.
She concluded by wishing them both “the best, peace, and happiness” as they move forward separately.
Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal got engaged in March 2026. Following the ceremony, the Indian cricketer shared pictures from their engagement on social media.
Their relationship later came under public attention in July after Akriti shared a series of cryptic posts on social media, sparking speculation about possible trouble between the couple.
At the time, neither Akriti nor Prithvi officially addressed the speculation or linked the posts to their relationship.
Akriti’s latest statement has now confirmed that the couple have mutually decided to go their separate ways.
