Pune/Wrestling: wrestling An international wrestling referee and coach who has dedicated his entire life to the sport and Assistant Director of Sports Department at MIT WPU, Prof. Major Dhyan Chand Maharashtra recently to Vilas Kathure SportsAwarded Ratna Jeevan Gaurav Award – 2026.

On the occasion of National Sports Day, hockey legend Padma Bhushan Major Dhyan Chand Sports Award Committee, Delhi Paramedical Board and Kaliraman Foundation India presented the award to Hindkesari wrestler Dinanath Singh and Maharashtra Olympic Association General Secretary Sanjay Shete at Yashwantrao Chavan Smriti Sadan (Town Hall, Karad). Regarding his success, MIT World Peace University Founder President Vishwadharmi Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Da. Karad and Executive Chairman Dr. Rahul Karad wished him all the best for the future.

Shiv Chhatrapati Awarded Outstanding Sports Guide Prof. Vilas Kathure has dedicated his life to the sport of wrestling. He is a senior mentor of the Indian wrestling team and an expert referee of the World Wrestling Federation. He is also the former Joint Secretary of Indian Wrestling Federation and Vice President of Maharashtra State Wrestling Council.

He has participated in Asian Wrestling Championships, Commonwealth Wrestling Championships and World Wrestling Championships in nearly 28 countries as a coach of the Indian wrestling team and as an expert referee of the World Wrestling Federation. He is the founder and president of Guru Dronacharya Pratishthan. This program was attended by Hindkesari Pai. Santosh Aba Vetal, Double Maharashtra Kesari Pai. Shivraj Rakshe, Prof. Sanjay Dudhane, Prof. Nitin Shinde, Prof. Amol Sathe, Baba Mate and sports dignitaries were present in large numbers.
