Paris Saint-Germain began its pursuit of a third successive Champions League title with a commanding 6-1 win over Slovan Bratislava at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.
Ferran Torres marked his European debut for PSG with a hat-trick, while Ousmane Dembele scored twice and provided an assist as Luis Enrique’s side dominated from the opening stages.
Dembele put PSG ahead in the 17th minute after Nuno Mendes’ powerful effort came back off the post. The France international controlled the loose ball before finishing past goalkeeper Dominik Takac.
PSG doubled its lead soon after. A deflected effort from Dro Fernandez fell kindly for Dembele, who headed home his second of the night.

Torres, who joined PSG from Barcelona during the summer, made it 3-0 in the 31st minute after meeting a cross from Dembele.
The Spaniard then almost returned the favour, playing the ball across goal for Dembele, but Takac diverted the forward’s effort onto the underside of the crossbar.
PSG continued its dominance after the interval. Torres scored his second just two minutes into the second half after a strong run by fellow new signing Maghnes Akliouche created the opening.
Mendes later had a goal ruled out for offside before Torres completed his hat-trick by turning in Dembele’s corner with his knee.

Slovan, coached by former Manchester City and Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure, managed a consolation through Suleiman Camara, who finished well to reduce the deficit.
Fabian Ruiz restored PSG’s five-goal advantage late on, reacting quickest to a loose ball inside the penalty area to make it 6-1.
The result provided PSG with a comfortable start to the league phase as it looks to become only the second club in the modern Champions League era to win the competition three years in a row, after Real Madrid’s run from 2016 to 2018.
