New Delhi. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Singh has given a strong reaction to the resignation of seven MPs from Raghav Chadha’s Aam Aadmi Party. He said that there is an attempt to tarnish the image of Punjab. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Singh said that Bharatiya Janata Party has betrayed Punjabis by carrying out Operation Lotus in the state. Bharatiya Janata Party has no face in Punjab. Bhagwant Mann Singh said that BJP’s washing machine is running in Punjab. He said that the seven MPs who have joined BJP are traitors.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, in his statement, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party and said that it is not able to win the elections directly, hence it tries to influence the politics of Punjab through ‘tricks’. Bhagwant Mann said that first the RTF money was stopped and then an attempt was made to create an environment by adopting different methods. He pointed out that the Central Government had several times taken economic and administrative steps to create pressure.

He said that when the farmers’ movement took place, the situation became such that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had to take a U-turn. According to him, this shows that the government had to bow before public pressure. He said that BJP has been accused of working like a ‘washing machine’, where leaders of other parties are mixed with itself. Referring to examples like Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray, he said that this pattern has been seen in different states.
He alleged that BJP wants to weaken the energy and development of Punjab. According to him, the opposition is upset with the work his government is doing and hence political pressure is being created.
