Punjab Police conducted 592 raids across the state on Saturday as the 'Gangstran Te Vaar' campaign entered its 250th day, arresting 264 individuals and recovering six weapons, officials said.
The raids were carried out at identified locations linked to associates of gangsters as part of the state-wide campaign launched by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav on January 20, 2026, with district police teams working in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF).
With the latest arrests, the total number of people arrested under the campaign has reached 74,180.
Police teams also took preventive action against 184 individuals and arrested six proclaimed offenders during the day's operations.
The Punjab Police urged people to share information about wanted criminals, gangsters and other criminal activities. Information can be reported anonymously through the Anti-Gangster Helpline at 93946-93946.
Meanwhile, the police continued their anti-drug campaign, 'Yudh Nashian Virudh', which entered its 575th day. Teams arrested 111 alleged drug smugglers and recovered 25.7 kg of heroin, 624 intoxicant pills and Rs 42,200 in suspected drug money.
The latest arrests have taken the total number of drug smugglers arrested under the campaign to 80,445 in 575 days.
As part of its de-addiction efforts, the Punjab Police also persuaded 13 individuals to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment on the day.
