Raaka director Atlee and wife Priya Atlee blessed with baby girl a day after Deepika’s pregnancy post

The Raaka team has one more reason to rejoice. On Sunday, the film’s lead actress, Deepika Padukone, announced her second pregnancy. A day later, director Atlee shared that he and his wife, Priya Atlee, have welcomed their second child, a baby girl.

Atlee posted a picture of his son, Meer, announcing the arrival of his sister, captioned “Feeling blessed.” The text on the image read, “Yay! I’ve got a baby sister! Big Brother Meer.” The post added, “We, Priya & Atlee, are blessed with a baby girl. April 20, 2026.”

Celebrities and fans quickly flooded the comments with congratulations.

Kajal Aggarwal wrote, “Yayyy big congratulations ❤️❤️❤️ lots of love to the little baby girl, parents, grandparents, and most of all Meer.” Ananya Panday also shared her wishes, commenting, “Biggest congratulations.”

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Deepika will continue shooting for an action sequence in Raaka during her pregnancy. The film is currently in production, and despite her pregnancy, she is expected to remain actively involved in the shoot. A few days ago, on Allu Arjun’s birthday, the makers unveiled the film’s first look.

Sharing the poster, Atlee wrote, “Raaka isn’t just a film… it’s a part of me I’ve carried for years. For 18 years, I held on to one idea, never letting it fade. It tested me, shaped me, and stayed with me through everything. And honestly… this is just the beginning.”

The makers have not yet announced an official release date, but reports suggest Raaka could hit theatres in 2027.

Atlee and Priya, who married in November 2014, welcomed their first child, a son named Meer, in January 2023. The name holds special significance, as it is inspired by Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, the father of Shah Rukh Khan.
