Bureau Prayagraj- Amidst the celebrations of Janmashtami, Simran Kaur reminisced about her childhood days celebrating the festival. She especially remembers that scene even today, when women came together and took part in breaking Dahi Handi with the same zeal and enthusiasm. Talking about what Janmashtami means to her, Simran Kaur says, “Janmashtami has always been very close to my heart.
I still remember that in my childhood I used to participate in plays and play the role of Radha. Even at that age, I felt the purity and beauty associated with playing the character of Radha. Growing up, I also witnessed the colorful celebrations of Dahi Handi and I remember being a little scared seeing Govinda trying to break the pot by making huge human pyramids.
However, what always attracted me was the coming together of women and participating in breaking the Dahi Handi with the same zeal and enthusiasm. It was a beautiful reminder that women are equally strong and capable and can face any challenge.”
For Simran, Janmashtami still reminds her of the warmth and innocence of her childhood, making the festival a special and memorable occasion for her every year. The celebration of Janmashtami reminds her of those beautiful moments spent in her childhood when she used to enjoy these festivals and felt the joy of celebrating special occasions with her loved ones.
