New Delhi: Amidst the political turmoil in Delhi, a new controversy has arisen regarding Rahul Gandhi. BJP Mahila Morcha held a strong demonstration near the Congress headquarters on Thursday, accusing the Congress leader of indecent behavior with a woman policeman. The workers raised slogans against Rahul Gandhi and demanded a public apology.
This entire controversy is related to the demonstration of INDI alliance which was taking place against the Election Commission. On October 6 and 7, opposition MPs had marched in Delhi demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the SIR of the voter list. A video of this incident has gone viral.
BJP’s allegation- pushed and touched
BJP alleges that while crossing the barricade, Rahul Gandhi pushed a woman policeman and touched her inappropriately. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari, while sharing the video on social media, claimed that Rahul Gandhi is seen pushing the female policeman. The party said that such conduct of the Leader of the Opposition is absolutely unacceptable.
During the demonstration on October 7, Delhi Police tried to stop the protesters by barricading. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi had reached Akashvani Bhawan complex. Later the police detained many leaders including both of them.
FIR registered, police investigating the video
Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and others in this case. It is alleged that during the demonstration, policemen were assaulted and government work was disrupted. The police are now examining all the video footage that has surfaced so that the true context of the entire incident can be known.
BJP made the issue of women’s respect
BJP Mahila Morcha has linked this incident to women’s respect. By protesting outside the Congress headquarters, BJP workers have made it a big political issue. BJP says that on one hand Congress talks about democracy, on the other hand its leaders behave like this with women policemen.
This controversy has come at a time when INDI alliance is protesting for the third consecutive day in Delhi regarding the resignation of CEC and the political temperature is already high.
