Actor Rahul Roy, who became an overnight star with the film ‘Aashiqui’, has been living a nameless life for many years. Recently, when some of his reels and videos went viral on social media, he had mentioned about his illness. Now recently Rahul Roy has remembered the most difficult phase of his life. The actor, who suffered a brain stroke in the year 2020, said that at that time he himself did not know whether he would be able to walk or speak properly again in the future.
Now Rahul Roy is slowly making a comeback in the world of acting. He will soon be seen in the new series ‘Super Badshah’, in which he will be seen playing the role of an underworld don.
Had brain stroke during shooting in Kargil
Rahul Roy suffered a brain stroke in November 2020 when he was shooting for the film ‘LAC – Live The Battle’ in Kargil. After his health deteriorated, he was first taken to Srinagar and then to Mumbai for better treatment.
The actor was admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai, where he had to stay in the ICU for some time. During this time, his family and close people supported him a lot.
‘I didn’t know if I would be able to walk or talk’
Rahul Roy told Free Press Journal that his biggest concern after the stroke was his ability to speak. He said that he had no idea to what extent his normal life would be able to return. The actor told that Karanvir constantly supported him during that difficult time. According to Rahul, after the stroke he had a fear that he might not be able to walk or speak properly again.
Recovery took place gradually with the support of family.
Rahul Roy told that the recovery process took time. With the support of his family and continuous efforts, he gradually tried to get his life back on track.
After this experience the actor also made major changes in his lifestyle. Earlier he used to smoke a lot and also eat non-veg food, but after the stroke he completely changed his diet.
Now medicines are also included in his everyday life. Rahul told that after breakfast he has to take about 8 medicines every day. However, he says that now his condition is much better than before.
‘Aashiqui’ made her a star overnight
Rahul Roy made his Bollywood debut in 1990 with Mahesh Bhatt’s film ‘Aashiqui’. Anu Aggarwal was seen with him in the film. The romantic musical film proved to be a huge hit and Rahul Roy became popular among the youth overnight.
After this he worked in many films including ‘Junoon’. Later, along with films, he also turned to reality television.
Rahul has also won the first trophy of Bigg Boss
Rahul Roy participated in the first season of Bigg Boss in 2007. Throughout the season, he created a special identity for himself among the audience and ultimately won the trophy of the show.
He left Carol Gracious behind in the finale. Along with the victory, Rahul also got prize money of Rs 1 crore.
Rahul Roy is now once again preparing to pursue his acting career. He will be seen in the upcoming Kuku TV series ‘Super Badshah’.
