New Delhi, 14 July. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Tuesday gave important information about eight major reforms being done in Railways. His announcements will benefit everyone from industry to farmers. In this sequence, now private companies will be able to prepare wagons themselves as per their requirement. Besides, rules for rail transportation of fly ash, container manufacturing, petroleum and fertilizer have also been simplified.

Under the reform policy of Railways, new loading technology will be adopted for transportation of fly ash. Transportation of fly ash generated from power plants has been made safe. Now instead of being transported in open wagons, it will be transported in containers. There will be top loading of fly ash in containers instead of open wagons. There will be a unified licensing system for container freight.

Transportation of fertilizer will be done through containers

There will be a new system for fertilizer transport, which will speed up the transportation of fertilizer. Under this reform, transportation of fertilizer will now be done through containers.

Strict rules for contractors

The rules have been made strict for contractors. The work of the contractor will be examined for the quality of Indian Railway construction. 10 percent amount will be taken from contractors as performance security. For strong eligibility, pending litigation should not exceed 50 percent of the net worth. All risk insurance policy system will be implemented. Rail Bhoomi Portal will be launched.

Private steel companies will be able to design wagons

Now private steel companies will be able to design wagons. Different industries will also be able to design wagons for easy use. RDSO will check these wagons. Now petroleum companies can prepare their own tank wagon for safe and easy transportation of petroleum products. At present, only tank wagons made by Railways are being used for transportation of petroleum products.

Now only skilled people will get work related to rail infra

Both skill certification and skill test have been made mandatory for people working in the railway infrastructure sector. Now only skilled people will be given work related to rail infrastructure.

Boost to logistics sector, Easy entry of new players in container business

As part of another improvement, containers will now be used to make transportation of food grains, flour, flour, gram flour, pulses etc. safer and easier. This step of the government will boost the logistics sector and make it easier for new players to enter the container business.

Ashwini Vaishnav said that nine major reforms have been made in the Railways in the last 2-3 phases. Today he gave information about eight new reforms made in Railways.
