New Delhi: Once again the rainy season has intensified across the country. Today i.e. on September 27, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain and strong storm in a total of 22 states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Bihar. During this period, strong winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 70 kilometers per hour, and there is also a possibility of thunder and lightning. In such a situation, people have been advised to keep a constant eye on the weather, because due to heavy rains, there is a danger of floods and landslides.
According to the Meteorological Department, the depression formed over north-eastern Madhya Pradesh and adjacent northern Chhattisgarh is moving in the north-northwest direction. Due to its effect, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Chhattisgarh and Bihar. However, it is a matter of relief that this depression is expected to weaken in the next 12 hours. The Meteorological Department has also warned of flash floods in many districts of eastern and western Uttar Pradesh for the next 24 hours.
How will the weather be from Delhi to Uttarakhand?
The capital Delhi will remain cloudy even today and there may be moderate rain. The maximum temperature here is expected to be 31 degrees and minimum 22 degrees Celsius, and the wind speed can reach 40-50 kilometers per hour. Uttar Pradesh received the highest rainfall in the country on Saturday, and even today there is an alert of heavy rain in both the eastern and western parts. Danger of flash floods has been reported in many districts like Bahraich, Gonda, Kanpur, Sitapur. Due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand, Chardham Yatra has been stopped for two days, and there has also been snowfall in the high altitude areas.
Condition of other states including Bihar-Jharkhand
There may be light to moderate rain in Bihar today, which will continue till October 2. There is also an alert of torrential rain in Himachal Pradesh, which may last till September 28. There is a possibility of light rain in Jharkhand, while eastern and western parts of Madhya Pradesh may also receive heavy rain.
Rainy season will continue in South India also
Rain may continue over South India's Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and North Interior Karnataka from September 27 to October 2. The extent of rainfall may also increase in Kerala and coastal Karnataka in the next few days. Apart from this, fishermen going near Somalia coast in Arabian Sea have also been advised to remain cautious.
