Ram Mandir Donation Case: VHP President said – There should be a fair investigation against whoever the allegations are; Akhilesh and Kejriwal also targeted
New Delhi. Amidst the ongoing political turmoil over Ayodhya’s Ram temple offering (donation) issue, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) President Alok Kumar has clearly said that whoever has been accused, there should be a fair and transparent investigation. He said that it would be appropriate to reach any conclusion only after the investigation is completed. He also reacted sharply to the recent statements of Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
‘The trust itself has asked for a thorough investigation’
Talking to a news agency, Alok Kumar, on the question of allegations against Champat Rai, General Secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, said that the allegations have come to light and their investigation is going on. He said, “The Trust itself has said that there should be a thorough investigation into the entire matter. Therefore, all the persons against whom allegations have been made will be investigated. We should wait for the outcome of the investigation. I am of the clear opinion that whoever the allegations are against, there must be a fair investigation.”
On the demand for FIR he said – no complete information
On the demand of some lawyers in Ayodhya to register an FIR against senior officials of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Alok Kumar said that he did not have complete information about that complaint. He said, “I have not seen that complaint and its complete contents have not been revealed in the media either. In such a situation, it would not be appropriate to make any comment without information.”
Denies VHP’s role in temple appointments
On the question regarding future appointments in Ram temple, he said that this is completely the jurisdiction of the trust. He said, “Vishva Hindu Parishad has no role in this process. It will be decided by the Trust only who will be appointed and how.”
Targeted at Akhilesh Yadav
Responding to the statements of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, Alok Kumar said that every person has the right to see his political dreams, but the public also remembers history. He said that if anyone tries to take political advantage on the Ram Mandir issue, people will also remember the bullets fired on kar sevaks and the incidents of that period. He alleged that during the Samajwadi Party rule, adequate attention was not given to the development of Ayodhya and the city remained neglected for a long time.
Also reacted to Kejriwal’s statement
Alok Kumar also reacted to the recent statement of Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal. He said that if anyone has evidence in support of serious allegations then they should be made public. He said, “If someone makes allegations without proof then the concerned agencies should know what is the basis of the allegations. If the allegations prove to be baseless then action should be taken as per law.”
All eyes on investigation
The investigating agencies are investigating the matter regarding the Ram temple donation issue. Meanwhile, allegations and counter-allegations from political parties are also continuing. Now all eyes are on the conclusion of the investigation and further legal action.
