Ram temple donation controversy: Nripendra Mishra welcomed the decision to form SIT, called it a necessary step

Ayodhya, 14 June. Ram Mandir Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra on Sunday welcomed the decision of the Uttar Pradesh government to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate alleged irregularities in donations to the Ram Mandir Trust and called it an important step. Speaking to reporters at the Circuit House here, Mishra said, “The formation of the SIT shows the government’s readiness and is an important step.” The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday constituted a three-member SIT on the request of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

The Trust had sought an impartial investigation to ascertain the facts and counter misinformation and attempts to tarnish the image of the Ram temple. This SIT includes Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, Inspector General of Police (IG) Kiran S and Special Secretary of Finance Department Neel Ratan. Nripendra Mishra also informed about the ongoing construction work in the Ram Temple complex.

He said that about four kilometers long modern boundary wall is being built around the campus, along with 25 ‘watch towers’ are also being built to further strengthen the security system. He said that the boundary wall and ‘watch tower’ are being constructed by ‘Engineers India Limited’. It is targeted to be completed by August 2026. Mishra said that the ‘lighting’ of the facade of Ram temple is expected to start by August 15. Apart from this, the outline of 20 galleries of the proposed Ram Katha Museum has also been prepared.
