The much-awaited trailer of Ramayana Part 1 had faced a delay after the makers announced that its release would not take place on July 24, 2026, as originally planned. The update had led to reactions from fans on social media.
The announcement had come hours before the scheduled release. Many users on X had expressed disappointment and had questioned the decision, saying they had been waiting for the trailer after earlier updates and screenings.
One user had written, “This is sheer arrogance and negligence towards your core audience. You are losing all the hype and interest of the people. Poor planning and poorer execution.”
Another social media user had reacted, “This is our insult… insult to the people of India… you promised for 24th July and before 6 hours you came with a delay excuse.”
The makers had shared that the trailer release had been postponed due to their collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment.
The delay had also drawn reactions from users who had raised questions about earlier private screenings and overseas showcases. A user had posted, “We have been waiting for like 3 months. You have shown trailer in West and did private screening for media. What about general audience?”
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana Part 1 featured Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Raavan, Ravi Dubey as Laxman, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman.
The film had been planned as a two-part project. The first part had been scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release, while the second part had been planned for Diwali 2027.
