Sanjay Singh, Patna: Whatever happened on Tuesday afternoon in Sultanganj, Bhagalpur, Bihar, not only shook the administrative system but also showed how high the morale of the criminals has become. The killing of Executive Officer Krishna Bhushan Kumar in broad daylight firing inside the Municipal Council office created a sensation in the entire district. Just within 12 hours of this sensational incident, the police retaliated and killed the main accused Ramdhani Yadav in an encounter.
On Tuesday, normal work was going on in the city council office. Employees were busy with files and officers were sitting in their offices completing their daily tasks. Then suddenly three criminals riding a bike arrived and entered the office without any warning. Before anyone could understand anything, the entire office was shaken by the sound of gunshots. The attackers opened fire indiscriminately, in which executive officer Krishna Bhushan Kumar was hit by several bullets. Municipal Chairman Rajkumar Guddu was also seriously injured in this attack.

There was chaos after the incident. The injured officers were immediately taken to the hospital but Krishna Bhushan Kumar died on the way. This incident raised a big question on the administrative security system. Such an incident inside the government office also increased the pressure on the police department to arrest the accused as soon as possible.
Ramdhani had surrendered
Amidst this pressure and speed, the police reached the main accused Ramdhani Yadav. It is said that fearing arrest, he himself reached the police station and surrendered, but the story did not end here. During interrogation, Ramdhani Yadav informed about hiding the weapon. The police set out to recover him but his associates, who were already ambushed on the way, attacked the police team. The situation went out of control due to the sudden firing. Meanwhile, Ramdhani Yadav also started firing on the police. Three policemen including DSP Navneet Kumar were injured in this attack. In response, the police took charge and opened fire in self-defense. In this clash of bullets, Ramdhani Yadav was shot in the chest and fell on the ground.

In critical condition, he was taken to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital in Mayaganj, Bhagalpur, where doctors declared him brought dead. With this encounter, the police tried to give a clear message that those who play with the law will not be spared.
Police have also arrested two other accused in the case, one of whom is said to be a close relative of Deepak and the other Ramdhani Yadav. Both are injured and are undergoing treatment under police surveillance. Senior Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar Yadav said that the retaliatory action was taken in self-defense after the attack on the police team. He assured that this entire matter is being investigated thoroughly and all the culprits will be brought under the ambit of law.
