The Raptors have agreed to a deal with Andre Jackson Jr. that will provide the athletic guard an opportunity to compete for a roster spot at training camp, Michael Scotto reports for HoopsHype (Twitter link).
It will be a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract for Jackson, per Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca (Twitter link).
Jackson spent the first three seasons of his career with the Bucks after being drafted 36th overall in 2023. While he’s a high flier and impressive perimeter defender, his struggles to score limited his role despite Milwaukee’s need for perimeter players over the last couple of seasons. He averaged a career-low 8.5 minutes per game last season and posted .328/.250/.625 shooting splits.
Assuming the Kawhi Leonard trade eventually gets completed, the Raptors will have 13 players on guaranteed contracts, so they’ll need to add at least one more player to their regular season roster to meet the required minimum. They likely won’t open the season with a 15th man under contract due to their proximity to a first-apron hard cap.
