Earlier, getting the money back in such a situation was considered almost impossible, but now Reliance Jio and Airtel are giving their customers the facility to get the wrong recharge refunded. However, this facility is available with certain terms and conditions. If the request is made immediately after the mistake, then the chances of getting a refund are higher.

Important information for Jio users

If you recharged to the wrong number through the MyJio app, you may have the option to reverse it. However, this feature only applies to recharges made directly through the MyJio app. If you recharged using Paytm, PhonePe, or another payment app, this feature will not be available. Furthermore, the reversal request must be made immediately after the recharge. This option is typically available for approximately 3 hours.

How to refund wrong recharge from MyJio App?

First, open the MyJio app and log in to your account. Go to Transaction History and select the incorrect recharge. If the reversal option appears, tap ‘Cancel Plan’. Then, select the correct reason, select the refund method, and submit your request. If your request is approved, the refund amount will be sent back to the same payment method or account used for the recharge.

What should Airtel users do?

If an Airtel number has been recharged erroneously, customers can lodge a complaint through the Airtel Thanks App. They can also seek help by calling 121 or toll-free 198. Go to the Help & Support section of the Airtel Thanks App and select the ‘Facing issue with recent recharge’ option. Click on ‘Wrong & Accidental Recharge’ or ‘Wrong Recharge Reversal’. Enter the Transaction ID, recharge date, amount, and wrong mobile number to submit the request.
