Rekha Gupta: Government approves Delhi Private University Bill; Delhi students will benefit greatly

Delhi Private University Bill: The Delhi government is introducing private universities for the betterment of students. The Rekha Gupta government has approved the ‘Delhi Private University Bill.’ This bill will greatly benefit Delhi students.

Education Minister Ashish Sood is expected to introduce the Delhi Private Universities Bill in the House. If enacted, it would reserve 25 percent of seats in each course for Delhi students.

Delhi Government Education Minister Ashish Sood said that Delhi has more students and fewer seats, so this bill provides for 25 percent reservation. This will ensure that Delhi students benefit from this, and also provide relief to students who travel outside Delhi to other states to secure admission.

The target is to distribute around 1,40,000 bicycles.

The Education Minister said that the Delhi government is distributing bicycles to Delhi students under the Vidya Vahini scheme so that they can travel from their destinations to school on their bicycles. The target under this scheme is to distribute approximately 140,000 bicycles, and it is expected that this target may increase further in the coming days.
