Relief to three CJP leaders, released by Executive Magistrate after detention in Delhi

New Delhi. Three leaders, including Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) chief Abhijit Dipke, were released on Sunday. According to CJP's Legal Affairs Head Ratna Singh, Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were produced before the Executive Magistrate at Delhi Cantt Police Station at around 9 am, from where they were ordered to be released.

Ratna Singh gave this information by posting on social media platform X. He wrote that the Executive Magistrate's court has released Abhijeet, Saurav and Ashutosh. CJP also claimed through the post that Delhi Police had to release the three leaders.

The three leaders were detained at the airport

The three CJP leaders were detained at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday when they reached Delhi to join the protest against the Election Commission of India. This demonstration was proposed against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The party was preparing to lodge a protest against alleged irregularities in the process of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list. In this connection, a demonstration was proposed at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

CJP denies news of filing petition in Supreme Court

In this matter, Ratna Singh also gave clarification on those news and social media posts in which it was being claimed that a petition would be filed in the Supreme Court for the release of the detained leaders and party members.

Ratna Singh clarified that CJP has not filed any such petition. He wrote on Twitter that the petition being circulated on social media has not been filed by the party. He also said that the party's legal team has not approved any habeas corpus petition and the CJP is not going to the Supreme Court in this matter.

What is there in the viral petition?

The document shared on social media mentions the Habeas Corpus petition under Article 32 of the Constitution. It mentions a demand to direct the production of those allegedly detained before the court and to release those whose detention is not authorized under law.

However, CJP's Legal Affairs Head has clearly denied that this document was filed by the party. In such a situation, it is important to keep in mind the difference between the viral petition and the official stand of the party.

After the release of the three leaders, the situation regarding the proposed protest at Jantar Mantar will now be monitored. This entire incident is related to CJP's protest against the Election Commission and the party's objections to the SIR process.
