Big changes in variants and reduced prices

The company has completely changed the trim lineup of the new 2026 Kwid. Compared to earlier, it has now been introduced in only two main variants – Evolution and Climber. The special thing is that compared to the previous model, the price of this new updated version has reduced by ₹ 32,000 to ₹ 38,000 depending on the variant. An additional cash discount of ₹15,000 is also being offered on the Climber manual variant for customers making digital bookings.

What’s new in design and interior?

Talking about the exterior, the new Renault Kwid now has Renault’s brand new 2D logo on the front and rear. Apart from this, new dual-tone wheel covers and attractive roof rails have been provided in the car. Changes inside the cabin are quite limited, where the driver now gets a three-spoke steering wheel with a new logo. Features like 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and digital instrument cluster have been retained in the car as before.

Engine Capacity and Safety Features

There has been no change in the mechanical department of this vehicle. The car gets the old 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which generates 67 bhp power and 91 Nm torque. It is paired with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox. In terms of safety, the car is now provided with 17 standard safety features like 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and rear parking sensor.

Statement from automobile experts

“Renault has tried to give the Kwid a fresh look in this segment with the new 2D logo and strengthened safety. The biggest thing is that by cutting the price, the company has taken a concrete step to attract budget buyers.”

Its impact on the general public and the way forward

In this era of increasingly expensive cars, Renault’s decision to reduce prices has brought great relief to common middle class buyers. Getting safety like 6 airbags at a low price in the budget segment can change the decision of customers. Booking and test drive of this new car is being started at Renault dealerships from today itself, due to which the crowd of customers is expected to increase in the showrooms this weekend.
