Report Liverpool flop Chiesa was targeted by Inter if Roma bought Luis Henrique in August 2026

Inter had prepared to swoop for Liverpool outcast Federico Chiesa in the summer if Roma had bought Luis Henrique, claims Fabrizio Romano.

It is hardly the first time that this idea has been suggested, but now that the transfer window has closed, it is reported the talks were significantly more advanced than previously thought.

Inter had Chiesa proposal ready

Chiesa has been so far adamant that he does not want to leave Liverpool, even after struggling to get any playing time since his arrival from Juventus in 2024.

The Italy international wasn’t even included in the Champions League squad list, and a January exit remains more than likely, if he finally relents and accepts a transfer.

According to Romano vi Tuttomercatoweb Inter had set their sights on the 28-year-old as a cheap replacement in case Luis Henrique made the move to Roma.

That never materialised, so the Brazilian remained, just a year on from his €22.8m plus bonus move from Olympique Marseille.
