New Delhi: Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil is showing signs of recovery at the Indian box office after witnessing a sharp drop on its first Monday. The horror reboot collected Rs 1.50 crore net on Day 5, registering a 20% increase over the previous day’s collection.
According to Sacnilk estimates cited in the source material, the film’s India net collection has reached Rs 12.25 crore, while its India gross stands at Rs 14.59 crore.

Resident Evil earned Rs 1.50 crore net on its first Tuesday, up from Rs 1.25 crore on Day 4.
The film opened at Rs 2.60 crore on Day 1 and improved to Rs 3.35 crore on Day 2. It reached Rs 3.55 crore on Day 3 before dropping significantly on its first Monday.
The Day 5 recovery has taken the film’s India net total to Rs 12.25 crore.
The English version contributed the largest share of Tuesday’s collection at Rs 90 lakh. The Hindi version added Rs 45 lakh, while the Tamil and Telugu versions contributed Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh, respectively.

The 20% increase on Day 5 comes after the film’s first significant weekday decline and could help stabilise its collections during the remainder of its opening week.

The latest film has already surpassed the reported lifetime worldwide collection of the 2002 original Resident Evil, which earned around $102.9 million.
It has also moved past Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, which grossed approximately $41.9 million worldwide during its theatrical run.
However, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter continues to hold the franchise’s highest worldwide gross, with a reported global collection of around $312.2 million.
