Resolve to raise the voice of farmers

Daughter. An emotional program was organized by Bihar Rajya Kisan Sabha, West Champaran Unit in the auditorium of Baliram Bhawan, Bettiah in West Champaran district. This event was organized on the occasion of the death anniversary of Late Atul Kumar Anjan, National General Secretary of Kisan Sabha, in which a large number of farmer leaders, workers and villagers participated. The program started with paying tribute to Late Atul Kumar Anjan by garlanding his oil painting.

All the people present saluted his contribution by keeping a two-minute silence and remembered his commitment towards the farmers’ movement. On this occasion, the speakers threw light on the thoughts and struggles of Atul Kumar Anjan in detail. The leaders said that he fought for the rights of farmers, laborers and deprived classes all his life and continuously raised his voice for their rights. His principles are a source of inspiration for the farmers’ movement even today. It was resolved in the program that Kisan Sabha will work more strongly to fulfill the unfulfilled dreams of late Anjan. The movement will be further intensified on issues like minimum support price, debt relief, irrigation, availability of seeds and fertilizers.

During this, CPI District Secretary Om Prakash Kranti said that in today’s time the situation of farmers is worrying and in such a situation the struggle can be given direction only by adopting the ideas of Atul Kumar Anjan. Farmer leaders Radhamohan Yadav and Ashok Mishra also stressed on the unity of the farmers and said that the fight for rights will continue from the streets to the Parliament. In the program, many speakers including Krishna Nandan Singh, Kedar Chaudhary, Sanjay Singh, Anjarul, Chandrika Prasad, farm labor leader Rajendra Sah, youth leader Idu Miyan, AITUC leader Lalbabu Ram expressed their views and called for strengthening the farmers’ movement.

Women’s participation was also a feature of this program. Sharda Devi, Malti Devi, Rang Devi, Sheela Devi and Chanda Devi also paid tribute and described the role of women in the farmers’ struggle as important. During the entire program, it was unanimously expressed that there is a need to broaden and intensify the struggle to protect the rights of the farmers. In the end, everyone united and resolved that they would further strengthen the farmers’ fight by following the path shown by Atul Kumar Anjan. This program was not only an occasion of tribute, but also gave the message of taking the farmers movement forward with a new energy and determination.
