As per the current pension system, players in this category are paid Rs 70,000 per month. Accordingly, Dhoni is also eligible for the BCCI pension scheme. How is BCCI pension determined?
The BCCI’s pension scheme takes into account the international and first-class careers of players. Former male cricketers who have played 25 or more Test matches receive Rs 70,000 per month, while eligible players who have played less than 25 Test matches receive Rs 60,000 per month. The pension of first-class cricketers is also determined on the basis of the number of matches played. Former women cricketers also receive pension benefits as per their eligibility.
