On Tuesday, on the fourth day of the first match against Sri Lanka in Galle, explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant achieved the special milestone of hitting 100 sixes in Test cricket in his 51st match. He became the first Indian and fourth player in the world to do so. Earlier, former England captain Ben Stokes had achieved this position in his 82nd Test. Ahead of Pant are Stokes (138 sixes), New Zealand's Brendon McCullum (107 sixes) and Australia's fast wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist (100 sixes). Before the start of the match, Pant had 97 sixes in his name and in the first innings he equaled Chris Gayle's record of 98 sixes. Among Indian players, Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma are jointly second in the list with 91 sixes each.
