President Draupadi Murmu has given him India’s fourth highest civilian award at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Hitman was supposed to receive this honor in May this year, but due to cricket related reasons he could not reach Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Actually, this day is also special for former Indian captain Rohit Sharma because he made his international debut on this day 19 years ago. On 23 June 2007, Rohit played his first International ODI match against Ireland. Now, 19 years after her debut, on the same date, she has been honored with the Padma Shri award by President Draupadi Murmu.

Rohit Sharma arrived at the award ceremony with his wife.

39-year-old former Indian captain and debutant opening batsman Rohit Sharma could not attend the first phase ceremony in May due to professional and personal reasons. Now Rohit has reached the award ceremony with his wife Ritika Sajdeh on Tuesday, June 23. Many famous personalities including PM Narendra Modi were present in this honor ceremony.
